Route Cashier – Northlake, IL
The Route Cashier is responsible for the accurate settlement of delivery route case sales, route cash deposits and validation of route variances. The Route Cashier will receive funds from our Delivery Drivers, record monetary transactions, and/or issue receipts for funds received. The Route Cashier will also perform administrative tasks such as data entry, general inventory duties, reporting etc. This role sits in one of our networks largest distribution centers and has a view of the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. It supports a critical part of the success of our Direct Store Delivery business.
Position Shift and Schedule
This is a Part-time permanent position working Monday through Friday from 12pm to 4pm. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays are required as scheduled/need.
Position Responsibilities
Account for funds (checks, money orders) collected daily from routes.
Ensure the validity of payments (checks are signed, have routing and account information, dated, to the right company etc.)
Post any discrepancies in invoice totals compared to funds collected.
Collect settlement packets from drivers.
Collect and record all payments received.
Review and verify that all proof of delivery documentation has been collected and is valid including verification of invoice numbers.
Identify and record problems for driver supervisor to review.
Prepare bank deposits and other necessary paperwork.
Assist other cashiers in completing daily tasks such as invoice scanning, organization, and cleanliness of office.
Other tasks as needed and directed by supervisor.
